Goals of this course are: first, to develop theoretical perspectives on social policy, social values, and social changes; second, to suggest a framework for analyzing and developing social policies and policy systems; and finally, to examine universal social institutions that function as key variables of social policies and social changes throughout human evolution. Themes of the course includes the holistic vs. fragmented perspectives on social policy aspects of the human condition, as well as real and perceived human needs and interests human needs, and individual and social development and social institutions.
