Understanding the Change of the Social Openness in China from the Perspective of Household Registry Matching in Marriage
内容简介/Abstract：
户籍制度作为最具中国特色的社会制度，汇集了地域空间、身份地位、社会资源获取等多种婚姻要素，从户籍的角度来考察婚配模式的变迁能够在一定程度上反映出社会结构的开放程度及其变化。本研究基于北京市2004-2011年的婚姻登记数据对近8年来的婚姻户籍匹配情况进行了分析和历史对比，我们发现随着市场经济的发展和人口流动、迁移的加剧，我国人口的通婚圈日益扩大，但户籍匹配的“同类婚”特征和婚姻梯度亦十分明显。
The household registration (hukou) system is a major institution in Chinese society. An examination of the household registry matching in marriage reveals a number of factors that influence mate selection, including geographic location, social status and access to social and economic resources. The change of the household registry matching between the couples is thus a good indication of the change of social openness to a certain extent. Draws upon statistical analysis of 2004-2011 Beijing marriage registration data, this study finds that in a time of extensive internal migration, the intermarriage circle is growing while the general characteristics of homogamy and marriage gradient remains significant in contemporary China.
