China Institute of Health (CIH)

After being approved by the Ministry of Education, China Institute of Health was founded in May 2011. Researchers have since conducted many field surveys with profound results. The basic level surveys focused on maternal care, rural health care and mental health in order to provide empirical support for health reforms, as well as relevant policy making.

In June, 2011, after being approved by the Ministry of Education and BNU, China Institute of Health at Beijing Normal University was founded, with Zhang Wenkang, former Minister of Health, as director, Zhang Xiulan, SSDPP’S director, as executive director, Qu Zhiyong as secretary, and Tian Donghua and Jin Chenggang as deputy co-directors.

 
On September 20, 2011, the ceremony for appointing the Institute’s director and to mark the new semester opening was held in the meeting room of the rear main building. Zhong Binglin, Chancellor of Beijing Normal University, appointed Zhang Wenkang as director, and Zhang Xiulan as executive director.
