China Children and Teenagers' Fund (CCTF) and SSDPP jointly issued the "Girl Child Protection Research Report"

On September 13, 2013, China Children and Teenagers' Fund (CCTF) and the Social Public Welfare Research Center of School of Social Development and Public Policy(SSDPP) at Beijing Normal University issued the "Girl Child Protection Research Report", aiming at conducting in-depth study of the causes of high incidence of young girl injury, understanding the difficulties and needs of the victims and exploring how social forces provide protection and assistance for young girls. At the meeting, China Children and Teenagers' Fund (CCTF) launched the "Spring Bud Plan - Bud Protection Action".


Since March 2013, the research group has conducted questionnaire and field research in Guangdong, Shenzhen, Guizhou and Jilin, carried out a dozen of in-depth interviews, obtained valuable first-hand data, and prepared the "Girl Child Protection Research Report" on the basis of collecting and analyzing a lot of media coverage and learning the results of previous studies. The "Report" studies and analyzes the current satus of the girls who suffered injuries, the causes and prevention strategies, the girls' plight, needs and path out of the woods, and puts forward specific initiatives.

 
After the "Report" was released, it caused a strong reaction among the major media. On September 18, 2013, People's Daily printed on the fifth page the special report of "Open An Umbrella of Guardianship for Our Children" to introduce the content of the "Report" and spread the research results. In addition, 10 print media have reproduced the "Report", including China Education Daily, the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference News, etc, and more than 40 online media reproduced the "Report" as well.
