​Teacher Fu Yuanyuan of SSDPP Attended An Academic Conference on the Elderly Held in Germany

From October 1^st to October 3^rd, Teacher Fu Yuanyuan of SSDPP was present at the “2^nd World Aging and Rejuvenation Conference (ARC-2019)” held in Berlin of Germany, and delivered a speech titled “An exploration of older Hong Kong residents’ willingness to make co-payments toward vouchers for community care” at the event.

In her speech, focusing on the willingness of the elderly and the government to share the cost of community-based elderly care services in Hong Kong, she talked about the impact of economic conditions, family support and service acceptance on the willingness of the elderly to share the cost, and accordingly made suggestions for maintaining the economic sustainability of the long-term care system in Hong Kong. Many scholars showed interest in the speech and exchanged ideas with Fu Yuanyuan about old people’s expectation for filial piety behavior and the relevant policies to relieve the pressure of family caregivers under the traditional Chinese culture.
