Prof. Tao Chuanjiin talks about charity information transparency on SOHU.com

Prof. Tao Chuanjin of the School of Social Development and Public Policy at Beijing Normal Universityshared his opinions on information transparency of charities on Charity Forum of China’s leading internet portal SOHU.com on 23 January 2013.

The need for charity foundations to disclose information on fundraising, management and so forth has been brought to the forefront in recent year after a string of scandals. Prof. Tao Chuanjin points out that while the discovery and timely correction of malpractice of charity foundations can be a good thing, people should keep aware of the harm that excessive exposure of those individual cases may cause to the whole charity industry in China. He hopes that the general public can be more tolerate to the budding charity industry in China and support its future development.
