Shi Tianqiong and Chen Zhen of SSDPP Achieved Good Results in 2021 China Public Policy Case Analysis Competition



In the 2021 China public policy case analysis competition hosted by Tsinghua University, the "Inner Mongolia Aircraft Carrier Team" composed of Shi Tianqiong and Chen Zhen, two students of academic master class enrolled in 2019, won the third prize of the master group, which is the best result of our graduate students in the six years since the establishment of the competition. The title of the award-winning case analysis report is "From sports cooperation to normalized collaboration: an interactive parking autonomy triggered by underworld-involved event". The case instructor is Xu Xiaoxin, the lecturer of the course" public policy theory "of SSDPP.

China public policy case analysis competition, hosted by Tsinghua University, began in 2016. It is open to undergraduate and master students at home and abroad and has gradually become an annual major event with extensive influence in the field of public policy. Over the past six years, the competition has attracted 12967 people of 3409 teams from 525 universities in China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, etc. The 2021 China public policy case analysis competition lasted four months from the preliminary to the final, attracting 734 teams from 232 colleges and universities, such as Tsinghua University, Peking University, Renmin University of China and Beijing Normal University. The master group was composed of 190 teams of 598 people. After strict preliminary selection, the topic selection reports of 74 teams entered the field investigation stage and 16 teams qualified for the finals. Through online defense, 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes and 10 winners were finally determined.

In this competition, the topic selection reports of one of our academic master teams composed of students enrolled in 2019 and one composed of students enrolled in 2020 entered the field research stage through the preliminary selection. Under the careful guidance of Xu Xiaoxin, after many field investigations, the "Inner Mongolia Aircraft Carrier Team" composed of Shi Tianqiong and Chen Zhen, two students of academic master class enrolled in 2019, finally completed the case analysis report: "From sports cooperation to normalized collaboration: an interactive parking autonomy triggered by underworld-involved event". In the process of field research and report writing, many teachers such as Zhang Huan and Tao Chuanjin also put forward constructive suggestions for the improvement of the works of the award-winning team from their professional backgrounds. After fierce competition for online defense, the team finally won the third prize of the master's group for its excellent application and expansion of theories related to public policy implementation. It is the best achievement of our graduate students in this event since the birth of the competition. This award shows the academic ambition and innovation ability of our students to, rooted in China's social development and public policy practice, explore the path of "rule of China" by adhering to our tenet of "erudition and practice".
