Happy New Year:The winter solstice dumpling making and winter party completed successfully



Prelude

At 19:00 p.m. on December 17, the winter solstice dumpling making activity of SSDPP kicked off on the second floor of the Northwest Restaurant on a warm winter night.

Before the activity, the graduate association prepared a new year gift for each student present, wishing everyone a wonderful start of the new year in a good mood.

PART 1 Making dumplings: Everyone shows their skills

At 19: 00, everyone is prepared and the activity officially began! Moderators Lv Jiaxin and Zhao Shuo introduced the origin of the custom of eating dumplings at the winter solstice, and described the competition rules of making dumplings in groups.

Then, three bachelor and master students enrolled in 2021 brought the opening dance: "Do you want to dance", creating a lively atmosphere of the New Year. (The program was so wonderful that the photographer forgot to take pictures)

After that, the dumpling making activity officially began.

Under the kind guidance of the canteen aunt, the students carefully studied how to make dumplings without revealing their stuffing.

Counselor Liu Danqing of SSDPP also participated in the event. She showed the students her superb skills and wrapped exquisite small dumplings one after another!

The students make dumplings in groups, showing their respective skills:

"The most beautiful dumplings",

"The most courageous dumplings"

and "the most creative dumplings".

In addition, there are some special fillings - peanut dumplings, which are the wonderful works of the canteen aunt. Whoever happened to eat such dumplings are the chosen children tonight to get our ultimate gift.

PART 2 Game time: listen to music and guess song names

After cooking the dumplings, we finally started our delicious journey tonight. Dumplings, barbecue, fried dishes and salted egg yolk pumpkin pastry have brought us warmth in this cold final month.

After eating dumplings, we began to listen to music and guess song names.

The students formed teams freely and named their groups according to the names of the dumpling stuffing: We came up with strange names such as plain stuffing, meat stuffing, durian stuffing, fish stuffing, vegetable stuffing and no stuffing.

He Lei, a member of the plain stuffing group with a solid foundation of music, achieved good results in the game, making his group successfully win the first place.

The meat stuffing group and the durian stuffing group won the second and third place respectively under the great pressure from the plain stuffing group.
