The 2020 Doctoral Class of SSDPP Successfully Held An Inter-college Badminton Friendly Competition with the Theme of "Struggling Youth in Exercise"



In order to actively implement the spirit of the important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the national education conference, cultivate a new generation with all-round development of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics and labor, and provide an effective way to strengthen the physique of PhD students and cultivate the physical exercise habit of doctorate students, at 14:00 to 17:00 on May 23, 2021, SSDPP's 2020 doctoral class committee and League branch jointly sponsored and held the inter-college badminton friendly competition with the theme of "struggling youth in exercise" successfully in Changping campus gymnasium of Beijing Normal University. The event was co-organized by the Chemical College's 2020 doctoral class.

The badminton friendly competition was participated by more than 20 doctoral students from three colleges. Before the match, Yang Ling, the monitor of SSDPP's 2020 doctoral class, organized the warm-up activity and introduced the purpose and rules of the competition. By drawing lots and freely choosing teammates, she fully mobilized the participant's enthusiasm for the competition. During the formal competition, the class committees of the three colleges actively cooperated to maintain the order of the competition. Dou Yuan, League Secretary of SSDPP's 2020 Doctoral Class, served as the safety director. She purchased emergency drugs and related necessities in advance to ensure the safety of all the competitors. Finally, after two hours of promotion and the semi-final competition, the event ushered in the most wonderful final link. The competitors turned around flexibly and smashed quickly, winning the cheers and applause of the audience, which pushed the lively atmosphere on the scene to the climax.

The inter-college badminton friendly competition broke the traditional mode of single class independent activities through the cooperation between class committees and Youth League branches, and summarized some experience for actively promoting the construction of senior classes represented by doctoral students. In addition, the event created a relaxed, friendly and harmonious communication atmosphere, increased the interest and attraction of class activities, and enhanced interdisciplinary communication and cooperation among doctoral students. While relieving the pressure of doctoral students' scientific research, it also encouraged and guided the students to walk out of the classroom and go to the stadium so as to devote themselves to daily scientific research and study with stronger physique.
