China's first campus safety education film "My Great Mother" co-produced by BNU meets the audience online on the national safety education day for middle and primary school students



The novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic began to spread worldwide at the beginning of 2020, and safety education and risk prevention became everyone's concern once again.

Children's safety education has always been an important topic for education authorities at all levels in China. March 30, 2020 is the 25th national safety education day for middle and primary school students in China. Haidian District Education Committee of Beijing specially planned the online activity of the national safety education day for middle and primary school students, which is part of the "Online Class Activities of Middle and Primary School Students' Safety Education in Haidian District - Online Safety Education", which will be premiered on March 29. In the online safety education activity, China's first campus safety education film "My Great Mother", which was produced by Haidian District Education Committee jointly with Beijing Normal University, will meet our students online for the first time!

"My great Mother" is a movie produced by Haidian District Education Committee, Beijing Normal University and Dongfang Nuclear Power jointly with the Planning and Construction Center of the Ministry of Dducation, the Publicity and Education eCnter of the Ministry of Emergency Management, the Online Film and Television Center of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and the Film and Video Center of National Academy of Public Administration. In September 2019, the film was selected into the 39th batch of excellent films recommended to primary and secondary school students nationwide by the Ministry of Education and the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, ranking the top of the list ( [2019] No.40, Jiao Ji Ting Han). On February 27, 2020, it was officially selected as the best narrative feature film of the 53rd Annual WorldFest- Houston International Film Festival. SSDPP/Risk Governance Innovation Research Center of BNU provided specific professional guidance for the film shooting.

"My Great Mother" tells the story of Ziming, a sophomore in junior high school, who explores the true meaning of "love and growth" in the life living together  with a "bionic robot mother", and encounters different risks and challenges in campus and daily life. Dr. Yuan, Ziming's mother, is a famous gene scientist. After she dies in an accident, her biological company gives a "bionic robot mother" No.009 with her gene to Ziming, and makes strict assessment requirements. Ziming takes No. 009 home. In order to pass the examination of the biological company, Ziming has encountered many dangers in the process of "taking care of his mother". Fortunately, his good friend Rong Liang and his sister Xuanxuan give him a hand. The three children overcome all kinds of difficulties with the bionic mother.

"My Great Mother" creates a campus comedy in popular language from the perspective of children. It is the distillation of more than 40 stage sitcoms of safety education for primary and secondary school students in Haidian District. In November 2019, in order to promote the safety education innovation mode of "100 sitcoms for 100 universities", the Planning and Construction Center of the Ministry of Education launched the activity of "10,000 sitcoms for 1000 universities" nationwide for safety education of primary and secondary school students. The Risk Governance Innovation Research Center of BNU and the Publicity and Education Center of the Ministry of Emergency Management jointly launched and organized this activity. The event of "10,000 sitcoms for 1000 universities" will, I believe, actively promote the innovation of mode and improve the efficiency of China's youth safety education.

Within 90 minutes, "My Great Mother" demonstrates more than 20 kinds of disaster response knowledge and emergency skills, covering fire control, survival in the wild, traffic safety, medical first aid, social security incidents, etc., filling the gap in this field in China. From September to December last year, the film was shown in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, highly praised by the audience. The content is humorous, and the plot is moving. The film will be shown on the 25th national safety education day for middle and primary school students nationwide. Let's look forward to it together!
