Associate Researcher Guo Jing of Peking University Delivers A Lecture at SSDPP



At the invitation of SSDPP, Guo Jing, an associate researcher of School of Public Health, Peking University, delivered a wonderful academic lecture with the theme of "writing and publishing of English academic papers" in Classroom 2030 of the Main Building of BNU on the afternoon of November 26.  Teacher Wang Xiaohua and Fu Yuanyuan also attended the event.

Starting from the topic selection of English academic papers, Teacher Guo Jing described in detail the steps and methods of writing English academic papers for our students. At first, she emphasized the importance of topic selection and provided us with the logical thought of searching for topic from three angles, namely, "literature", "theory" and "real life". After that, Guo talked about the steps of English paper writtng, i.e. introduction-methods-results-discussion, introduced in detail the writing ideas, and gave examples of the problems encountered in her paper writing in order to provide us with more vivid and direct experience. In addition, Teacher Guo gave a detailed account of the process of publishing English academic papers, and explained in detail the relevant problems that may occur in the publication of papers, such as how to reply to the reviewers. The students actively asked questions, such as how to fill the missing value, how to judge whether the journal charges, and how to reasonably reply to the reviewers. Teacher Guo answered the questions patiently one by one.

The students said that through the lecture, they've learned more about English academic paper writing and publishing, which is helpful for their study and practice.
