SSDPP Won the First Battle in HISOC Football League Match



On October 8, 2019, the 16th Graduate Football League Match of Beijing Normal University officially kicked off! SSDPP and the School of History jointly participated in the match this year. The team name HISOC is composed of the first three letters of the two schools.

SSDPP's football team is mainly composed of MPA students, academic graduate students and international students.

Match process:

The weather was good on the day of the match, but it was a little bit cold. The HISOC team members came to the stadium early for warm-up training. After careful discussions, Captain Zheng Jiaming arranged a 3-3-1 formation, with Spanish forward Alex as the single arrow and experienced Wei Bokai in the midfield. Liu Yanan from the School of History and Wang Yuchen of SSDPP are on the left and right sides respectively as they run very fast. The back court was started by the original team of the School of History, with center back Zheng Jiaming, and Zhang Junyi and Zhang Hongyi on the left and right sides respectively. After one year's training, they've become a skillful backcourt combination. Gong Zijie, a freshman for a master's degree from the School of History, served as the goalkeeper.

In the course of the game, both sides defended and  attacked each other. Forward Alex's strong body and flexible footwork impressed us. He frequently retreated to the outside of the forbidden area to receive the ball, and broke into the forbidden area with his own ability, with a number of threatening shots. Unfortunately, he was unlucky and failed to score many times. Under the dispatch of Wei Bokai, the midfield players cooperate tacitly. When attacking, they looked like sharp knives. In defense, however, they became an insurmountable barrier. Due to their excellent performance, the other side did not create many offensive opportunities the in the first half of the match. Once the other side attacked our third area, Captain Zheng Jiaming immediately directed the defense line to work together to resolve their attacks. Goalkeeper Gong Zijie did a good job. Although he didn't have many chances to touch the ball, he was calm in the attacks and high-altitude ball picking.

At half-time, the two sides drew 0:0. In the second half, HISOC team had a flurry at the beginning. Its several high-altitude ball handling errors gave the other side hope of breaking the goal. Although the midfield and backcourt players tried their best to defend, they were finally scored by the other side, and HISOC was 0-1 behind. After losing the ball, Alex, Wei Bokai and Zheng Jiaming gathered the players to encourage each other, and HISOC Team immediately adjusted itself to the normal state. Forward Alex's impact is amazing. The other side's defensive players once needed two or three people to attack him together. Finally, Wang Yuchen suddenly gave a nice shot and the other side failed to respond immediately, but blocked the ball's trajectory with his hands. The referee ordered a penalty kick. Under great pressure, Wei Bokai stepped forward to take the penalty. Although the other goalkeeper guessed the direction to save the ball, but Wei was very calm and gave a nice shot to equalise the score to 1:1 on the field.

The equaliser was a great boost to HISOC Team's morale, and HISOC showed better performance in both attack and defense. Finally, in the process of a breakthrough with the ball, Alex skillfully passes between two defenders of the other side, but his attack opportunity is destroyed by the opponent's center back by pulling. The referee again awarded a penalty kick. The opponent was dissatisfied with the penalty, but the referee did not change the result. Once again, Wei Bokai stood in front of the penalty spot. This time, he didn't give the goalkeeper any chance and directly kicked the ball into the net. HISOC Team surpassed by 2:1. Our team members were all surprised to see Wei Bokai's excellent psychological quality. His extremely calm performance directly reversed the situation on the field. At this time, the other side launched a crazy counter attack, but Zheng Jiaming led the back defense calmly and the midfield players also participated in the defense. The other side made several attempts to attack, but failed. HISOC Team won the game finally. A brilliant reversal was a good start to this season's Graduate Cup football match.
